The Schuylkill River Trail - Philadelphia to City Line (TSRT) is a National Recreation〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.americantrails.org/nationalrecreationtrails/10NRTapps.html )〕 rail trail that is owned and operated by Montgomery County, in Southeastern Pennsylvania. This section of the Schuylkill River Trail follows an abandoned Philadelphia Railroad track and portions of Philadelphia’s SEPTA rail line. The trail, offers an open space along the Schuylkill River and allows access to many historical sites. It also provides a place for the community to enjoy the outdoors and for other recreational activities. == Historical development == Historical significance The Schuylkill River played a crucial part in developing the City of Philadelphia. In the mid-19th and 20th centuries, the river helped pave the way for both the Pennsylvania and Reading railroad systems. This development of rail line, allowed for the transport of raw materials and other goods, to and from the City of Philadelphia. Trail’s history and evolution Today, the Schuylkill River Trail follows the abandoned Philadelphia Railroad track, and portions of Philadelphia's SEPTA rail line. It allows access too many historical sites and other trail systems.
